WILBER'S “WAKING UP” IS NOT “AWAKENING” FALLACY - A Critical Appreciation of Ken Wilber's Finding Radical Wholeness, Part 3 - BRAD REYNOLDS

By relying on his over-simplified “5 Ups” version of AQAL Metatheory in his new book Finding Radical Wholeness: The Integral Path to Unity, Growth, and Delight (2024), Ken Wilber has conflated and flattened many of the subtle nuances needed to appreciate the various transpersonal state-stages of higher mystical development and how most forms of mysticism differ dramatically from Enlightenment. “Waking Up” or peak experiences, such as Unity consciousness, is NOT Divine Enlightenment or God-Realization as defined by humankind’s Great Global Wisdom Traditions.... As a result, when Wilber fails to clearly differentiate Waking Up experiences from Awakening or Enlightenment (as the Buddha defines that state), he creates as much confusion as clarity.
