Ken Wilber is an influential writer in our time within the field of psychology 
and psychotherapy. His Integral Psychology provides a framework and an overall 
perspective on human develop­ment that is synthetic in its nature. Owing to its 
inclusive comprehensive developmental approach it may be argued that Integral 
Psychology resembles the approach of Psycho­synthesis. His model provides a method 
to examine or validate the integral nature of any psychotherapeutic discipline 
and this will be the main focus for this article in relation to Psychosynthesis.

(W)HOLE BEING: THE SUBJECT OF NON-DUALITY - John Conolly

The title of this essay enunciates tension between polar characterizations of 
the subject as (1) a fullness of being and as (2) a lack of being. The traditional 
Indian philosophy of Advaita Vedanta exemplifies a doctrine of non-duality that 
asserts the self as plenum. This ancient teaching posits that the apparent 
subject-object distinction predicating all experience dissolves when proper 
knowledge of ultimate reality is attained--that is, knowledge of the oneness 
of Being as the unconditioned Absolute (Brahman).

IS MY I-PHONE CONSCIOUS? - David Lane

In several previous articles and books (see Exposing Cults: When the Skeptical 
Confronts the Mystical), I have argued that science is indeed sufficient to the 
task of explaining the paranormal or transcendent. However, I don’t think it is 
very intellectually challenging or interesting to merely repeat one’s Wilsonian 
leanings or intertheoretic reductionisms over and over again. So, in honor of 
both Andy Smith and Elliot Benjamin (who have inspired me with their open-mindedness), 
I thought it might be fun and hopefully useful if I did a complete U-turn and 
attempted to argue on their behalf.
