He has appeared on numerous talk shows, led seminars at many colleges and corporations, and spoken at numerous professional conferences and colloquia. Mr. Martin is president of the FINRA-registered securities brokerage firm, Hugh Martin Securities, and of the SEC-registered investment advisory firm, Hugh Martin & Co. Hugh is also president and co-founder of the life planning and counseling firm, Whole Life Counseling. AMALIA KAYE MARTIN ('Kaye') is an early-education specialist, a gifted natural medicine practitioner, and an instructor in nutrition and natural medicine at Baumann College.

#6: The Pathfinders of Growth

We have discussed the various ways we grow (Domain 1: Dimensions); the various aspects of Identity or Self that partake in that growth (Domain 2: Participants); and the various methods by which growth takes place (Domain 3: Processes). But we also need assistance from various people and resources to guide and orchestrate our growth. These are the Pathfinders of the growth process -- Domain 4. The 12 types of Pathfinders may be divided into three categories:

• #1-4. Collective & Societal Guidance: The four types of guidance we receive from the groups and societies we grow up in. Includes: Parents & Family, Society & Culture, Authorities, etc.
• #5-10. Individual & Personal Guidance: The six types of guidance we receive from those we choose ourselves, or who work for us personally. Includes: Long-Term Partner, Counselor or Therapist, Spiritual Guide, Mentors, etc.
• #11-12. Internal Guidance: The two types of guidance that arise within ourselves. Includes: Internal Navigator and Providence.

Symbolically, the Pathfinders are the Navigator & Captain of our Life Journey.
