I have given it the new name: "INTEGRAL WORLD: EXPLORING THEORIES OF EVERYTHING". This more accurately reflects the efforts going on at this website over the past few years, and avoids the impression to the reader that this website is somehow officially linked to Ken Wilber. "The World of Ken Wilber" website originated as a fan site around 1997, but has now outlived it's purpose, since it has included a wide variety of opinions on the work of Ken Wilber. Do you want a mission statement? Let's try: An impersonal reflection on all varieties of integral philosophy, as pioneered by Ken Wilber in the past three decades, areas of which have been refined, debated and/or refuted by many other thinkers. The Integral World website wants to be both a catalogue and a forum about this particular universe of thought. (This includes the literature and debate on Spiral Dynamics, an earlier system of integral psychology, developed by Beck/Cowan from the writings of Clare Graves, which is extensively used by Wilber in his more recent writings.) Basically, integral philosophy tries to strike a balance between spiritualism (religion) and materialism (science) on the one hand, and individualism and socialism on the other, if you want the European polarities -- or within the American context: liberalism and conservatism. This example alone shows that integral philosophy has to be a world wide effort, and requires cooperation between thinkers inside and outside the United States. It covers wide fields of knowledge and research, which have never before been brought together in one comprehensive philosophy. =========================== Recent additions to the Integral World website: 06/06/04: An announcement for the Evolutionary Leadership course by Georg Por and Peter Merry in the Netherlands has been posted on the Integral Agenda page. 06/06/04: An announcement for the Spiral Dynamics Integral Level III course by Don Beck and Peter Merry in the Netherlands has been posted on the Integral Agenda page. 06/06/04: A German translation by HaPe Lin of Ray Harris' "A Letter On Mythical Thinking: America and Iraq" has been posted in the German Section. 06/06/04: A German translation by HaPe Lin of Frank Visser's "Reflections on 'What is Integral?'" has been posted in the German Section. 05/29/04: My essay "Reflections on What is Integral?" has been posted in the Reading Room. 05/29/04: The name of this website has been changed from "The World of Ken Wilber" to "Integral World: Exploring Theories of Everything".
